Oh, prom, this annual event, forcing young people into smoking, girls in dresses and parents in rental of limousines. Is a cheerful, carefree cavort with your classmates in high school before they’re gone, to college or jobs or what comes after whatever. Or, if you listen to TV and film, is the most transcendent evening, always the life of a young person will grace the single (bar-bah mitzvah be damned!). Read more
